Fellow social media practitioners, please stop compromising when it comes to including social media properties in TV commercials. I know it is exciting when you get the OK to put a chicklet on a TV spot, but think of how ineffective this is… you are not giving them a URL or handle to visit. You are essentially saying- “Hey we are on Facebook, come and find us!” Behavior like this would never fly in a different medium. Stick to your guns and ensure that if a social media property is included in a TV spot- that you give the viewers true direction as to where they can connect with you online.
